FBC Tuscola Youth Vision and Mission Statement
Our Student Ministry exists to assist and equip parents in the process of discipling and growing their middle school, jr. high and high school students towards maturity in their faith.
Ephesians 4:11-16 (NIV)
11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Maturity Defined
We believe that maturity is not a destination, but rather a journey. Students who are exposed to our ministry should have a:
- Growing love for God
- Growing love for God’s Word
- Growing desire to pray
- Growing sensitivity to the Holy Spirit
- Growing love for people
- Growing sense of who they are and where they fit in the body of Christ
When they leave our Ministry, it is our desire that every student:
- Know what they believe
- Know why they believe it
- Live it out
Success for us Means
Our students are daily living out the teachings of Scripture and consistently growing in their relationship with God.
Our Core Values -
The 5 M’s of Student Ministry:
- Allow students to do MINISTRY. Every student has something to contribute.
- Expose students to quality MENTORS. Every student needs the influence of adults who model the faith.
- Provide opportunities to make MEMORIES. Church should be fun!
- Partner with MOM and DAD. Parents are a constant influence in the life of a student and we should work together to develop godly men and women.
Create space for God MOMENTS. God can do what we can’t. We must create environments and opportunities for Him to move in the lives of our students.
